MyoCare DMD Clinic at Egyptair Hospital, Cairo, Egypt, led by dr. Rasha El Sherif, has been officially granted the title of Accredited Duchenne Center (ADC) for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)
The ADC visitation committee for this accreditation was led by prof. Imelda de Groot, joined by prof. Nathalie Goemans and dr. Karolina Podolska. The team conducted a thorough review of the clinic’s multidisciplinary approach, care standards, and implementation of the latest Duchenne care recommendations.
Dr. Rasha El Sherif and her dedicated neuromuscular team demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering comprehensive, family-centered care aligned with international standards for Duchenne care. Throughout the accreditation process, the committee recognized the team’s expertise, enthusiasm, and determination to continuously enhance patient follow-up, coordination between specialties, and overall quality of care.
Dr. Rasha El Sherif, who is a recognized leader in care for patients with neuromuscular diseases, summarized her team´s experience with the accreditation process as extremely valuable and states that it has strengthened their multidisciplinary approach to Duchenne muscular dystrophy care.
She also leads an enthusiastic team at the Neuromed Clinic in Cairo and her continuous effort to improve care for patients with DMD is inspiring.
Achieving ADC accreditation provides reassurance to patients and families that the care delivered at MyoCare Clinic at EgyptAir Hospital meets internationally recognized standards of excellence. Dr. Rasha El Sherif emphasized the importance of this milestone and expressed the team’s commitment to ongoing development, collaboration, and continuous improvement through engagement with the ADC Program.
