WDO elected as European Patients’ Forum member

The European Patients’ Forum (EPF) is an umbrella organisation that works with patient groups in public health and health advocacy across Europe. Their members represent a specific chronic disease group at EU level, or are national coalitions of patients. Their mission is to empower patient organisations through education, initiatives and projects by coordinating best practice exchange between members at European and national levels, strengthening the organisational and advocacy capacity.

WDO elected as EPF full member

This week, the General assembly of EPF accepted WDO as a full member. This will strengthen the position of the Duchenne and Becker community by being part of a patient group network that focuses on health literacy, healthcare access and quality, patient involvement, patient empowerment, sustainable patient organisations and non-discrimination faced by patients in health and social care. The vision of EPF is that all patients with chronic conditions in Europe have access to high-quality, patient-centred health and related care.

Dimitrios Athanasiou elected as EPF Board Member

Dimitrios Athanasiou is welcomed as a new EPF Board Member, who will take part in the activities and future strategy planning to enable EPF and attached patient organisations to grow and work effectively. This will strengthen the collective influential patient voice in European health and related policies in a driving force to advance patient empowerment and equitable patient access to care in Europe.
